-On the Delivery Ceremony for High Flux Heat Exchangers for Senior Project New Verbund Site China of BASF Integrated Site (Guangdong) Co., Ltd 

On the afternoon of June 18, 2024, with bright sunshine and gentle breeze, the Delivery Ceremony of High Flux Heat Exchangers for Senior Project New Verbund Site China of BASF Integrated Site (Guangdong) Co.,Ltd (abbreviated as BIG Project in following) EO/EG Cluster was held at Wuxi Chemical Equipment Co., Ltd. (WCE). The BIG project is the number one strategic project of BASF to support the growth of the chemical market in China. The High Flux Heat Exchanger produced by WCE is the critical equipment of EO/EG Cluster.

Dr.Joachim Thiel, Senior Vice President of BIG project, along with his senior management team attended this grand event.

At the delivery ceremony, Mr. Honghai Cao, President of WCE expressed sincere gratitude to BASF on behalf of all personnel involved in this project for their trust and support all the way through. His thoughts then flashed back to the past 20 years of pleasant and fruitful cooperation with BASF.  As a globally qualified supplier of BASF, WCE began manufacturing high-end equipment such as High Flux Heat Exchangers for BASF back in 2002. But at that time WCE had to import the High Flux tubes, the core component for High Flux Heat Exchangers, completely from overseas. After more than 20 years of continuous independent and pioneering research and innovation, the series of High Flux Heat Exchanger tubes and heat exchangers produced by WCE have taken a leading position in the industry and completely used as substitution for imported High Flux tubes. The products have also been successfully applied in large petrochemical, new materials, LNG, and clean energy facilities both domestically and internationally, which made WCE asuccessful example of domestic substitution and globalized development.Meanwhile, WCE,as the main industrial drafter, completed the Chinese national chemical industry standard for Sintered Porous Surface Tubes for Heat Exchangers(HG/T 4379-2012)which set the industry standard for High Flux Tube Heat Exchangers.

 After conducting a series of strict tests and comprehensive evaluations over a year by BASF global auditing team, BASF ultimately decided to choose WCE as the supplier candidate of copper nickel alloy High Flux Heat Exchangers for EO/EG cluster for the BIG project. WCE was deeply encouraged by this decision and at the same time was fully aware of its significant responsibilities. Ever since then, WCE has put this project as one of the top priorities, formed a strong project team, continuously optimized design plans, developed a comprehensive manufacturing and quality control plan, and ultimately successfully completed the task as planned. At theend of the speech, Mr. Cao once again expressed sincere gratitude and blessings to BASF and FLUOR’s BIG project team members for their strong support and assistance, as well as the hard work and dedication of all WCE employees.

 BASF's representatives also congratulated on this grand event and delivered passionate speeches. Dr. Joachim Thiel, Senior Vice President of BIG Project, also refreshed the qualification process of WCE being selected as the first Chinese supplier of High Flux Heat Exchangers for the BIG project. This is also the first time BASF has awarded the entire High Flux Heat Exchanger process package of its EO/EG cluster to a Chinese supplier. The fact that WCE was awarded for these High Flux Heat Exchangers is certainly result of a successful collaboration between WCE and BASF in the last decades in many projects. He further mentioned that BASF had seen a lot of passion, expertise of the WCE team to make the project happen in good quality & safety performance, which are number 1 and 2 to have a successful project. Therefore, in addition to High Flux Heat Exchangers, BASF has also awarded WCE a large number of other key equipment for the BIG project.They have also seen all levels from WCE Senior Management down to shop floor level for their hard and dedicated work for the BASF High Flux Heat Exchanger package. All of these and all the constructive discussions between the WCE team and the BASF team made him convinced that BASF made right decision to award WCE and it is certainly a lighthouse project for future collaboration between WCE and BASF.

Mr.Chengwei Li, Project Director for EO/EG Cluster and Mr. Joerg Ziegler, Director of Material Management of BIG project also conveyed the appreciation to WCE’s professionalism, capabilities and dedication in their speeches, stating that this collaboration was a pleasant experience and also expressed their expectations on WCE team on future projects.

 Asuccessful project always requires great efforts from all involved. At thedelivery ceremony, those with recognition by BASF for their outstanding contributions received various awards, and the project leader received an Appreciation Letter signed by Dr. Joachim Thiel, BASF BIG Project Senior Vice President. At that moment, all attendees were excited, with cheers and applause heard all over, as this series of awards really represents the recognition and encouragement from BASF.

 Accompanying with enthusiastic applause and cheers, BASF leaders and experts, along with WCE management team, held golden scissors and swiftly cut the red ribbon symbolizing the equipment's departure and embarking on a new journey, marking the successful conclusion of this delivery ceremony.

As a leading pioneer in the field of high-efficiency heat transfer technologies,WCE's other flagship product, the high-efficiency condensing tube heat e xchanger, has also been selected for the ethylene plant of the BIG project,with Linde Germany as the licenser.

In a word, this milestone delivery ceremony is not merely a recognition by BASF of WCE's efforts in research and innovation over the past two decades; it is more importantly an incentive and expectation for WCE’s continuous improvement and better customer service for future projects. More importantly, this delivery ceremony not only marks significant achievements in the technological research and development of WCE, but also demonstrates the capabilities of Chinese equipment manufacturing industry. In the future, WCE will continue to provide better products and services to create more values for customers home and abroad.
